I am wondering if this cpu upgrade would be worth my money. I have a Athlon XP 3000+ and I am wondering if I would see any performace gain by upgrading to the 64 3000+?

Providing you then install a 64 bit OS, then you may get a speed increase within windows. But AFAIK any programme on the PC needs to be written for 64bit to get any real gain.

Personally I'd stick with your current setup, and wait till 4 and 5Gig chips are out. Probably by then 64 bit OS's will be a bit more common?

Well you always have the option of overclocking, but thats only if you know what your doing and you have the cooling system to back it up.
