I would rather stick with 95 than to put on ME!

Wait untill you see what others say then if you still want to we will tell you how!

I am going to watch to see if you get even 1 good reccomendation for ME. Smile!

Going from 95 to ME is more of a downgrade that an upgrade. I would recommend going to 98SE.
You seem to have an OEM ME CD, it detected a version of windows installed, and stopped. This CD is supposed to only install on a clean HD. You said that you do not want the old files so you you need to format the drive. This dos command does this.
    format c: /u
However, before you do this, go to Bootdisk's and get for for 98SE OEM or the one for ME, for when you format the hard drive, it will no longer be bootable, and your 95 boot floppy does not have support for the CD drive. Doubleclick the downloaded file with a floppy in the drive to create one.
If you decide to do this, say goodbye to Restart in Dos Mode. The only way to get it to start in Dos Mode is to use a boot floppy. If you have any dos based games or programs, it may not be easy getting them to work.
No doubt you will need to search for drivers for your hardware, if the ME disk does not have them.

No it will install without formatting or even looseing any of your installed software or drivers if the drivers will work with ME.

All you need to do is rename c:\windows\win.com to win.sav and it will install. Then when offered by windows setup to install in c:\windows.000 do not choose that but choose only c:\windows

I would still wait for a positive recomendation!
