    Hello Mur,

If you run a "tight ship ", no insult intended, then by all means, upgrade.

If you're currently experiencing problems with ME, do a clean install. Back up all your user data first, of course.

I'm assuming you've got an "upgrade" disc which is the same as a "full" disc. The difference is: have to insert your ME disc for "proof" of running a previous Windows version.

Others may post advising you to do a "clean" install anyway, and I tend to agree.

    Regards - Charles

It depends on somewhat shape your system is in right now. If all is well you could go for an overtop install.

If there ANY existing problems ( Blue Screens Of Death or lockups etc ) Go for a format and start over.

I myself consider myself VERY lucky. Not having had any problems for well over 6 months with 98 SE I put XP overtop and so far all is going very well. Had to re-install a few things like Motherboard drivers and a couple of other things. But, I LOST nothing.

But I do not recommend that for everybody. As I also had the original HD that I had copied to the new as a backup in case things did go wrong.
