I've just gotten a new computer at work that will be used as a standalone training computer. It has XP SP1 and I would like to get all the updates since that point but without connecting to a network to get them. Does anyone know if Microsoft makes accumulative updates that can be downloaded and burned to a CD to load on a standalone system? I do have the SP2 CD from Microsoft to start with, I've noticed a lot of the upgrades I have gotten for my own personal computer have been for IE or network issues which would not apply for a standalone system.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can download all the updates from this link. Burn em to cd and take to the new computer.

    Windows (Security & Updates)
Download security updates, service packs, PowerToys, and more for Microsoft Windows.

The hard part is figuring out which ones you need..

If it’s never going to be connected, then why do you need any security updates? All you will need is an anti-virus to check any added files, or screen any CD etc on another machine before you let it near the training one. You will know when you need software updates when something does not work.

Besides, with a training machine you will probably have to reinstall Windows on a regular basis. So learn how to take and restore a backup image of the hard drive. That way you won’t care if it does get a virus as you can restore to a clean system at any time.
