Resolved Updates download but are not installed

I was updating my wife's computer yesterday and seemed to go forever with no noticeable activity. Finally stopped WUD and rebooted. No indication of an install. Went to WUD again and it said I had 17 new updates. Started and let it run with no indication of activity. Ran the fixit (iirc) and it said service registration is missing or corrupt. Stopped for the day. Today I started her computer up and it installed 2 updates. Checked in Windows/softwaredist/downloads and it seems all the updates are there but only the 2 installed. Currently d/l system update readiness tool but have a very slow internet connection. Thoughts?

Well when I d/l the readiness tool I made the idiot mistake of having it open instead of saving it. So once I got it d/l and did a clean boot I could not access it. Oh well, another day.

 

Out of curiosity I let WUD run while my wife spent a couple of hours on FB. Low and behold they all installed.
