Just installes Vista SP1. Now windows media player stops and jerks video. None of the other video programs are affected. Suggestions? It also disabled my audio card, and desktop settings. They were easily restored. Also, can not check for updates even with all other programs stopped. I welcome suggestions.

Did you check and make sure you had the latest driver updates for all your hardware before updating to sp1? I know vista has problems with some video and audio drivers if they are certain versions (conexant, realtek, intel are among them).

Check and make sure you have all driver updates. :)
