Recently I updated OE6 and now when someone sends me a message with an attachment sometimes I get a message from OE that states "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail. delete IPG." I do not want OE6 to decide what attachments I can or cannot see. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening? I am using W98SE. I am going to work now so I won't be able to answer any questions about this until tomorrow. Thanks for any help.

Open Outlook Express and click Tools - Options - Security. Uncheck the "Do not allow attachments ... etc" box, click Apply and then restart OE. The attachments should now be available.

You can edit which file types OE opens and which it doesn't w/o defeating this useful feature. Go into Folder Properties>File Types>click on the file type you wish to edit (for example JPG) and click Edit. Then uncheck Confirm Open After Download. This will cause OE to allow you to save/run the attachment. Certain file types cannot be edited such as EXE. Executable files should remain as confirmation due to the risk of viruses.
