Resolved Update Kb2943357 Won't Install

    Prepping a Windows 7 computer (Dell Inspiron 3647 Desktop) for upgrade to Windows 10. Ran Disk Cleanup, Malwarebytes, MSE, and ESET Online Scanner and all is ready except that KB2943357 fails to install. I ran the Windows Updater Fixit and also manually downloaded and ran the update and neither helped. Would I be taking a risk to upgrade to Windows 10 without the update being installed. If so, any suggestions for making the install work?

    When you Google the KB number you see:

    Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2943357)

    Odds are that you can live without the update.

    Thanks Steve. I think I'll go ahead and try the upgrade. I find many people that do the upgrade without knowing they did and don't encounter any problems.

    I went ahead with the upgrade yesterday and so far all seems to be well. Will let you know if any glitches occur. Thanks for the input.
