What blue lines? Your post is devoid of detail, please expand on the issue.

Under what conditions do these lines appear - post a screenshot.

Appreciate your reply, petec. Apologies for not being more explicit.

The blue vertical lines appear in almost all my e-mail? Using windows live mail. One or more lines may appear.

Sounds like Forwarded email that has been sent Forward more than once and hasn't been cleaned up by the sender. Neil.

Agreed. They don't have their mail set right. This is like the Carrets ( >>> ) that you see. They can be removed by you when you forward something or if everybody would go to Options/Send tab/Mail Sending format/Plain text setting and tell it not to put the > in, they won't be there.
You can try highlight all the mail in the body and cut and paste it back and this will usually get rid of them. I use a little program that rids it of both the blue lines or the carrets.

In that case a faulty monitor or corrupted driver is the most likely cause.

Please start your own thread. This is something different than the original poster has posted.

    Thanks.

Hi Lis. I'm not seeing any vertical blue lines in that screenshot. It looks completely normal. Do you have a spare monitor that you can hook up to the computer to rule out a faulty monitor?

Do the vertical blue lines only appear when you check your e-mail or are they present when you boot up the computer?

You have NO control over those lines. They are there because of e-mails being forwarded to you. It is from the Sender or somebody who sent it to them and they forwarded it also.
Read my post and also Retiredlearns post. That is what they are. In my post, I told you how to get rid of them if you wanted to send them to somebody clean.

Looking at the screenshot again it actually does look like you have 3 lines on the left side on the screen. It seems those lines are from your e-mail client and as Bill said are part of the e-mails being sent to you. My mistake!
