How do I get rid of any networks listed in "My Network Places ". There is no Delete or remove in the context menu.

I have been trying with a wireless laptop to make a small network to share files and Internet connection and have ended up with a lot of "debris" I would like to get cleaned up.

Once I get it cleaned up, I would like to start from scratch and try again.

Did you try "Right Click" and select Delete?

I'm trying to get rid of the one called MSHOME. The only context menu on it is expand, explore, open, and properties.

That's the name of your network. Short of removing your network, you can't remove it. You can change the name from System Properties > Computer Name.

That would do it. How do I remove the network? I was only helping my cuz make a network and now I want to clean up the debris.

    Thanks Arie

You are seeing the default network setup when XP is installed. See the screenshot from my desktop which has never been networked to another computer. You should be able to delete items in the tree below MSHOME, i.e. fred-c-dobbs.

As Arie posted you can change MSHOME to any name you like, mine is the default WORKGROUP.
