Unwanted Internet Favorites

Three unwanted/unsolicited URLs re-appearing in my Windows Favorites file (shortcuts)occasionally on start-up, & my IE (5.0) 'home' page url being automatically reset(e.g., one 'favorite' is hand-book.com). I have windows 98se. I delete these favorites (and delete cookies) but they keep reappearing - even though I've been using netscape communicator more predominately and do not visit the 'favorite' sites in either browser.
Any assistance appreciated.

Run Spybot, AdAware, and CWShredder. Make sure you update after downloading and before running.
