I am on a LAN. I recently got a USB wireless broadband adapter from TMobile.

There are settings in the TMobile connection manager to "allow simultaneous connections ", which are set correctly. If I connect my LAN cable, the TMobile won't give any throughput (Server not found). Throughput is immediately restored as soon as the LAN cable is disconnected.

TMobile says this problem is due to a setting in my computer that is overriding the TMobile connection and it is therefore not their problem. They refuse to help. I service computers and networks all over my city and I have never heard of any such setting or policy.

Anyone have any advice on this problem?

One thing that I could think of is to take it back and tell them what the problem is and that you want your money back and go someplace else. Somebody is blowing you off if you ask me.

I just got off the phone with a more knowledgeable TMobile person. He admits this is a connection manager software issue and says the same as you about returning the device. Problem is I bought the device over a year ago (when it was $200) and used it exclusively as a remote laptop connection. I am now in a location where the TMobile device is as good as I can do right now. I could get a better connection from a cable company but, at $50 more from one company (BrightHouse) and $80 more from another (UVerse).

So, I can no longer return the device.

Additionally, I am getting 5 Gigs a month (TMobile) at full speed (which is only 3- to 4.5 Mbps) and unlimited (after the first 5 Gigs) at half throttle the rest of the month -- for $30. The closest I can get from other wireless companies is twice the price and shut down completely for the rest of the month if I exceed my allotment.

I think I'll look for a device from another company that will solve this problem. I know there are other devices out there that accept TMobile SIM cards.
