It seems I've had nothing but trouble since I downloaded the Service Pack 1. I now get automatic shutdowns and restarts and error messages frequently when clicking on programs to open. I'm told that RealOne Player may not be compatable with XP and that it can cause the above - apparently there's a "fix" in the works...... anyone else heard of or experienced this ????

Haven't heard, haven't experienced. But don't use that player so wasn't looking.

    A couple of suggestions though.

First - try uninstalling and then reinstalling the player. That may fix things up if it is the cause.

Next (if that didn't help) - uninstall SP1 and see if you are back to normal. Make sure your AV is disabled when you do the uninstall. And if it was running when you tried the first time, you might want to disable it and try again.
