Win 7 64 bit. After the computer goes into sleep mode it will sometimes take a minute or so to get the cursor to move. The screen comes on but the cursor is unresponsive. It makes no difference if everything is closed and only the desktop is showing or if any program is left open. The strange thing is, it will not happen every time. Sometimes I can wake the computer up and continue with what I was doing with no problem, other times, I have to wait until the cursor decides to move again. It's not a major problem and other than that annoyance the computer has no other problems. Thanks, Jack

Start your troubleshooting by running powercfg /energy from a command prompt.

When finished, copy C:\Windows\System32\energy-report.html to the desktop & open it with IE.

Is this a new occurance or has it always done this? If it's the former, I would try playing around with the power management settings and seeing if that helps. Personally, I have mine set to hibernate and the cursor is almost immediately active.

Didn't reply sooner just to make sure fix worked. Local technician at Staples had me set " require a password when computer wakes" in Control Panel, System and Security section. You don't have to use a password, just click on require a password and when your computer wakes, it shows a screen requiring a click to unlock the computer. Has worked everytime for 8 days now. Computer responds immediately. He said a lot of customers have come in with the same problem and the fix he suggested has never failed. Thanks for your help. Jack
