    Vista 32/64 bit, SP1

I have a lot of unmovable files on my system and they
seem to be growing larger and larger each time i look at
them even tho nothing is being installed. Is this possible?
Is it normal for these files to keep growing in size?

Attached jpg shows a map of my C drive with the
    unmovable files shown as black.

(I need to test the above link to see if it works).

    thanks,

Little things like SYSTEM files will fall into the catagory. I'd leave em be if you want your machine to boot up;)

    Steve R Jones,

Understand they are "hands off" but at the rate they are increasing I'll be out of space in a month.

If I'm not installing programs, why are the growing so fast?

I'll watch it for a while and compare it with previous jpg. If
still growing, I'll post a new jpg so you can see how its
getting bigger. Hopefully it will max out soon.

    thanks for the reply,
    savagcl

Funny what an extra zero will do to you.
When re-sizing the page file an extra zero got stuck on the
end of the number (repeat keyboard rate set to fast).

Big difference between the first jpg (above) and this latest.
Plus i did a boot-time defrag and a few other steps I found
on the web to reduce all the overhead. I think most was
restore points which i have now turned off. With Acronis,
i dont really need restore points.
