I have about 30+ processes running in the background

How do I prevent these from loading.
I have cleaned the entries out the the startup key in the regestrie
I also hav tried reg tweaks.

Most of these are system tasks with cryptic names so i do not know what they are for

Is there another way to prevent windows XP from loading these processes other than individually ending each task????

    thnx

    Hi Gasolene
Yo've also went into msconfig and unchecked all unneccesary apps from loading at start up?
(Start button......run......type in: msconfig....click ok...then look under your start up tab)
Here are two links to tell you what those items are :

    Msconfig entries
    and
    More of the same
