I am using a computer with win XP on it and I have a program that starts up when the computer dose that I cannot connect to anything.

It is called Goff.exe When I looked at the properties for this file it says that the product name is Kernelx. It also refures to something sihuy.exe but it is not on the computer anywhere. At least I can't find it when I do a search.

I have ran spybot, adaware, AVG and even done a couple of online virus scans and come up with nothing.

I was wondering if anyone else has come across a file titled goff.exe before?

All I can think of is it may have something to do with my wireless mouse and keyboard or a graphics tablet that I have attached to the computer.

    Any suggestions

    Hello cwdlmdd,

Searching google, comes up with a Japanese page if when translated amounts to nothing, or data bases like Tasklist for any of the terms also comes up with nothing.

My advice would be to disable from starting, if it's something needed, you'll find out. Can't see any risk in doing that, easily reversable. Make a manual System Restore pont as well.

    Regards - Charles

    cwdlmdd--Google says there is a URL www.kernelx.com
But that site is now only a holding site for someone trying to sell the URL. If there ever was a kernelx company, it seems out of business now.
I believe the translation of the Japanese site on goff.exe suggests that file has something to do with GRAPHING and turning some display function off. Do not know if that helps.
Searching on sihuy.exe leads to nothing but gibberish and articles in what seem to me an obscure language. I wonder if sihuy.exe and goff.exe are even connected.
If you do feel that goff.exe is connected to the graphics tablet (which sounds benign), perhaps ignore the following.
How do you know goff.exe is starting at boot? If in MSCONFIG, uncheck it and see how the PC runs. You could also look in the Registry (RegistryFile|Find) for references to goff.exe and kernelx. I assume you have looked in Control Panel/Add/Remove to see if kernelx, goff.exe, etc. are in there and can be uninstalled.
