UnInstallShield Error

    I have tried to install several different software items, and have received the following error message: "Setup has detected that unInstallShield is in use. Please close unInstallShield and restart setup. Error 432. " I have used the task manager and don't find that program running. I have tried restarting the computer and running the software setup with nothing else on, and receive the same message.

    My first guess would be that the error is bogus - there is a problem but it has nothing to do with the Uninstallshield.

    Does the logon you are using have admin or power user rights to the PC? If not, an attempt to install software can and does generate that error.
