I UPGRADED from Win 98SE to Win XP Home Edition. When I was running 98SE I had Tweak UI installed. I forgot to uninstall it before UPGRADING to XP. When I go to Add/Remove programs in XP and try to uninstall the OLD Tweak UI, I get the message: "An error occured while trying to remove Tweak UI. It may have already been uninstalled. Would you like to remove it from the Add/Remove programs list "?

Does this mean the XP UPGRADE removed it? Would it be safe to simply delete the Tweak UI folder as if it were no longer installed?

AceH--Never tried this so do not know if it will help.
Run a Find on tweakui.*. You will find all the TweakUI files still in your system, if any. If you still have tweakui.hlp, open it, go to the Index tab, type in uninstall, highlight TweakUI, click OK. At the bottom is an arrow for not having TweakUI in the Control Panel, click on it. The next window gives you the option to reinstall the TweakUI uninstaller. Might try that.
Of course, if the Find shows no TweakUI files, then it would seem you have uninstalled it. On the other hand, even then, you may still have TweakUI settings in the Registry.
Have you tried to install XP's TweakUI? If no problems doing that, and it works, perhaps just leave well enough alone, and just get rid of the listing in Add/Remove?
