i previously had free bitdefender v10 oem. later i uninstalled it and put avg now. but still on right click on any icon it shows bitdefender there. itried to delete all files manally by locating using search option but no use. 1 file at c:\programfiles\softwin still present which if i try to delete says cannot delete bdshelxt.dll access denied. i have also used regedit to manualy remove bitdefender files from hkey current user and local machine. how do i remove it completely?

Try booting into safe mode and ran as admin, even if you have admin rights. Then do what you tried to do before.

no da it didint work. i deleted all rgistry keys like xcomm, bdss, filespy etc as told in bitdefender website. butt still that softwin folder still exists in c:\progamfiles\. when i tried to delete it says access denied. make sur that disk is not full or write protected and that file is not used by other program.

I hate software that won't let go. I figure if their uninstaller is that bad, can their program be much better??
