I want to uninstall win2000Pro or at least change the boot option so that it defaults bootup to win98 and NOT win2000.

In my attempt to get my win98 system to boot I tried a new install of Win2000Pro. It was a New install as opposed to an Upgrade install, so the files are all still intact but the software that ran with win98 was not carried over to the win2000 install.

So now it does successfully boot to either OS on startup, but because Win2000 is first on the list of OS to boot to, it first boots to Win2000. I want it to boot to Win98 if I am unable to uninstall 2000.

    Thanks.

To change the boot order, you will only need to edit c:\boot.ini with any text editor (notepad, edit from a DOS window, whatever) and set whichever OS you want to be the default. Then save boot.ini and you are good to go.

It is a hidden file so you may not see it but it is there.
