Resolved Uninstall QuickTime

    ... I'm using a Gateway GT5408 PC, running Win Vista Home Premium OS... trying to uninstall QuickTime via 'Start>Programs>Quicktime>uninstall'' as well as 'Control Panel> uninstall>Quicktime', but keep getting error alert 'can't access network' ... it's as if the app is a ghost... title info only, no properties ... any suggestions? tx

    ... tx for quick response... tried to INSTALL, get same alert as when trying to UNINSTALL ... 'can't access network' ... ??

    Try CCleaner - I used it on a friends W7 unit when cleaning up his comp prior to an upgrade to W10. (All went smoothly). Neil.

    That error is usually caused by the corruption of the QT installation package (.MSI).

    In the past you could use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft, but this has been retired. Microsoft now offers a FixIt: Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled.

    See if you can fix it with that.

    ....... I use CCleaner every other day- no joy
    ....... Lj50: get alert- 'WIN Script Host.. can't find script engine for script C:\Users\ALC\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP000.Tmp\StartMsi.vbs'
