Uninstall incomplete

First I need to gieve a brief introduction: I am a first time full time college student. I have had to download VMware Workstation for one of my classes. I have had so many problems with it working correctly! I downloaded the evaluation copy of VMware Workstation 7.0. When I go to install it, it tells me to uninstall my previous version (VMware Workstaion 6.0). When I uninstalled, it tells me that the msi file is missing and can not uninstall. When I go to my program files, it is not there. When I go into Add/Remove programs, it shows the Set up icon but without any information other than used rarely. It does not show Change/Remove or anything. How do I get it completely uninstalled from here? SO LOST AND CONFUSED

 

A registry entry is most probably causing problems. You could either try to clean registry by using Registry cleaners [dangerous stuff] or you could roll back your system to a state prior to installation of VMware by using System Restore.

You should first download & run CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com to see if it solves your problem.

You could also try Sun Virtualbox instead of VMware.

 

Start\run\regedit\H_KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. Check everthing in the Uninstall Key. Hope this helps.
