    Hi,

I am way tired of uninstalling and reinstalling Norton Internet Security. Up until recently I recommended Symantec Anti-Virus and or Norton Internet Security. However the last few months have been a major headache with Symantec not playing nice with Microsoft's latest and greatest SP2 as well as Symantec not being available or acknowledging issues with it's software.

So having vented that, I am looking for Anti-Virus Software as well as a firewall, stop the backdoor attacks, worms, trojans and if it could do the windows (pun intended) that would help. Most users I interact with are not very sophisticated in their computer knowledge and or use. The user I am referring to, wants the software to do all the work and they also don't need to understand what that work is. That's why they listen to me ;)

This is the new generation of users that have gone from dial-up to DSL or Cable Modem and are not sure what hit their computer.

Any suggestions and or direction to information would be appreciated.

By the way, I think this site is outstanding. I have been using\studying all the information here for a couple of years. When asked how I know stuff about computers, I often say, "self taught" which means: I read windowsbbs.

    Thanks

    Dmack

You may like to try the free version of AVG antivirus recommended and used by many on the Board and ZoneAlarm firewall (free version without the built in antivirus) - download through Quicklinks in my signature.

BTW I have used NAV for many years without a problem, but have steered clear of NIS. NAV 2004 is fully compatible with Windows Security Centre once you have downloaded a patch from Symantec through Live Update. A patch for 2002/3 is imminent.
