   Lastly (5-6 days), unexpectedly, I get sometimes a sound file (regardless what I am doing) which tell me "You have new mail! Yaaa-hoo! ".
It's true I have an account on Yahoo Mail, but those moments I am not logged in (I'm completely out of Yahoo).

Maybe I (or someone else) made a setting to get such a sound file. But what does it means? What application is doing this? How can I get rid off this?

Thansk for your help, friends! In advance!...

Apart from some sort of viri attack, I'd check under sounds... in the control panel. Look under the sounds events and see what event is referenced with the "you got mail" wav file. It's possibly just a system notification that is set to that particular wav file.

Do you use Yahoo's instant messenging program? If so, is it running when you hear this? I don't use it so I can't say for sure but I'd have a look in the options and see if it's configured to check your Yahoo email account. Sounds to me like it might be something like this happening.

Yahoo! don't list any setting related to a sound file...
In Control Panel/Sounds I didn't foind any file which sounds like this...

It was a forum (appzplanet), I guess...
This forum generated some messages, maybe accidentally, to warn about some posts, and I didn't remark their note about the warnings, so they send a sound file.
I was confused because the "Yaa-hoo!" exclamation in the sound file and I supposed that is an Yahoo business.
After opening the list of messages, the sound didn't appear again.

If it's not the real cause and the sound will appear again, I will tell you, so we look for some other cause.
