Hello, I don't think this has been covered and I hope that this question is suited to the networking area. I apologize in advance if this is easy or has been covered, if it has been, I would appreciate someone linking me to the solution. Anyways, I have the second edition of Windows 98 and have recently been networked to two other computers with roadrunner. Since then, my computer has been restarting at odd times. There hasn't been much of a pattern, if I'm just on the internet or in word, it usually doesn't restart or it takes awhile. However, if I try to listen to an mp3 or use other media files, the computer usually freezes before the end of the 1st song. It isn't exclusively a problem to listening to mp3s, but it's the most common time. I know next to nothing about computers, so I'd appreciate any help that is offered.

    Thanks!

It seems to me you have processor overheating. A sudden reboot is usually indicative of this. It also indicates possible future processor failure. Playing media files usually takes quite a bit of your processor time and it heats up. The media software makes a difference in this, ie, if you are using Media Player 7.1 it is using 70% of your processor time, Media Player 6.4 uses 40%. It is time to dust out your computer as a possible solution.
