Trying to install management software for USB flash drive(Windows XP Home). The following message box will pop up. Unexpected Error. Please check file access permission. This installation will terminate. I have never had this happen before and cannot seem to find information on what is causing the problem.

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks,

Suggest you try just plugging in the drive without installing the management stuff and see if you can see it in My Computer. If so drop some files onto it and if that works, your done.

    unexpected error update

    Sparrow,

Thanks for your reply. You are right on!! I plugged in the drive downloaded a file and then check to see if file was there. It was so the drive will work okay.
I also tried to install the management software on a laptop and received the same error message as desktop. Must be something with file access on the software cd that came with Flash Drive. Anyway it will work without.

    Thanks again

Thanks for the followup. Helps to know if our suggestions help.
XP doesn't need any help to use flash drives.

    As an FYI for everyone:

WinME and XP come with Drivers for USB - only needed with 98.
