During the loading of new software(Norton SystemWorks2001), a message said "Some Windows2000 files need to be reinstalled from the Windows2000 CD ". After completing the installation and rebooting, I get to the Windows2000 password screen, and when hitting return key(I never used a password), the system just loops back to the same screen.
How can I reinstall files when I can't get in?
If I reinstall the whole system doesn't that mean I have to reinstall all the applications?
    Thank you.

You may have a damaged MBR. Try running fdisk /mbr from a boot disk.

My 4 Windows2000 Startup disks and the emergency repair disk do not have fdisk on any of them.
