    Hello there,

    I have a SAMSUNG NC10 running XP (HE) Version 2002 SP3

Symptomatically I have the "Limited or no connectivity" tag associated with my LAN connection.

LAN is connected to DSL router.

I also have a desktop PC connected to same router which is not experiencing any problems.

I have (very) limited technical competence, but suspect that the TCP/IP config/services have been corrupted.

Ping to 127.0.0.1 and default gateway appear to work fine, however, one immediately point I notice is that the IP for the default gateway, DHCP server and DNS server (all the same and all pointing to my DSL router) for the "working" PC are different to those reported on the Tosh NC10??

Any recommendations.... apologies for such a basic question!

    be not afraid

here are some stabs at the darkness

    - your DSL device is periodically crashing and the it's side interface becomes temporarily existentially challenged

    - your cables might need to be exchanged for ones less bent, twisted, or gnarly

    **

You're use of "also" intrigues me. Do explain your use of it in relation to "LAN ". A crayon type drawing would be helpful if not entertaining. :)

    during DHCP woes?

    no worries

** Try giving the problem machine a static IP address

    Hi Notzofram!

Thanks for all the various stabs in the dark - and apologies my post posed more questions than specific pointers to answers.

    In response...

I believe my DSL modem is okay. Internet connectivity on other devices connected to the DSL modem are fine

Ran through the gamit of setsh commands...per http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

I have done lots of cables swapping and renew and the problem persisted at on the NC10

Anyway..... having spent a whole pile of time looking at rather complicated possiblities I
    tried something very sime.

I initiated a System Restore from a previous checkpoint - and it sorted the problem

To be honest I am none the wiser! but at least the PC is working again.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post though. I appreciate it.

    With kind regards.
