I recently was advised and did switch over to Media Monkey for playing my music. Now my question is related to what should the setting "be" to make my own CD of MP3 files from my hard disk. Using Media Monkey I put all my MP3 files to disk and it plays fine on "my computer ". But the CD will not play on any other Cd player in the house or on the car CD player. Yet, if I copy a purchased CD it will play everywhere. What can I do to create a CD that will play my music in the car or elsewhere? Thanks. Claire:confused:

I can only read in between the lines ...
I'm suspicious you burned mp3 files to your CD. This is not wrong, IF your player of choice can read mp3 files, such as your computer/Media Monkey. Your CD/mp3 files can play on stand alone CD players and car CD players, but again must have the ability to read mp3 files. It would appear your players do not have that option. Reading Media Monkey info, free version can do the following burns ....
The above is what you have already done.

You need to use the following option ...

Hi Claire, yes Dennis is right, Media Monkey has Ripped your CD to MP3 Format, most DVD players will play your MP3's and of course every IPod and MP3 Player. Yet CD players are more selective on the formats they play.
The newer type of Car Radios CD Tuners will play MP3 via a USB port or SD Memory slot.
MP3 is a compressed audio format you can adjust the quality of the rip, on a rough quote you will get about 4CD's worth onto 1 CD in MP3 format.
    hope this helps

    Claire,

I will give you another agreement with Dennis. I make several CDs and I have to use the WAV format to make sure they will play anywhere. I have tried making only MP3 CDs and they will not play everywhere due to compatibility (as the others have mentioned). If you want them to play no matter what player you are using, you will have to burn to a different format.
