I'm still using TB 2.0.0.24, as I don't like 3.x. As the subject says, I'm unable to open TB in its Safe Mode under any circumstances. Instead, I get a message that the program is still running (see screenshot).

I have tried everything I can think of. After closing TB and checking Task Manager to confirm that the program is NOT running, I'm still unable to open in Safe Mode. It was suggested, in another thread, that I close Firefox (using 3.6.15) as well, but that has no effect, nor does rebooting the computer.

I've even tried to open TB in its safe Mode while running Windows in Safe Mode with networking, but get the same error message.

This is not a biggie, as I have no problems with TB when running normally, but I'm at a loss as to why this might be happening. Any constructive thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What are you wanting to do this? I would guess that not enough Windows stuff is loading and causing the error.

Running in regular mode and unplugging the network cable might be something to consider.

with TB closed, find the file parent.lock and delete it. Its located in the TB profile.

The parent.lock file disappears as soon as TB closes, so there's nothing to delete.
