Hi. My problem is like this:

I have two Microsoft Office in my computer, one is Office 2007 Enterprise and Office 2010 BETA. Since I've found that Office 2010 is buggy and slow, I uninstalled it using Add and Remove Programs. my pc reboot after uninstalling.

Problems came after I've uninstalled Office 2010. All the icons for .doc and .xls files are changed, when I double-click, nothing happened. When I attempt to open it by right-clicking then "Open With ", Ya, there is a recommended Program named "Microsoft Office 2007 ". An error occured:

    C:\Documents And Settings\Admin\My Documents\xxx.doc
This action is valid for products that are currently installed.

Can anybody tell me what is happening? Cuz I can only open that file by starting Word 2007 then "Open "

I suspect that you have fallen foul of beta software, which really should be avoided and you have complicated matters by installing the beta alongside 2007.

I guess your program associations are messed up - you could try fixing them through Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types (if memory serves me right as I run 7).

Failing that a repair or reinstall of 2007 is on the cards with no guarantee that the problem would then be resolved.

I've tried to fix them via Folder Options, but no luck. I think I should try reinstalling Office 2007, See if works.

Ah, finally I've resolved the problem!
When I run setup.exe to repair, the system hangs and it restart itself. But I ran System Restore, and attempt to reinstall it, finally it worked!

    thanks
