I am trying to install some software called Photo Pos Pro for the month of Jan. they are offering a free registration for their trial download thus making it full.

    www.mydigitallife.info/2008/11/25/p...version-registration-license-key-id-and-code/

It installed easily on my laptop. When I try to install it on my desktop (same OS) I get this error.

"You do not have the required privileges to continue the installation. Please have your system administrator (or some other user with higher privileges) install the software.
Couldn't get write access to the "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.pcx" registry key.

This is really good software and since it is free this month, I would like to have it on the desktop computer as well. Can anyone help._

Login as Administrator & then install it. It should install properly then.

Hi Herd72. What OS are you using? Your user account most likely doesn't have the privledges to install the program. Like rsinfo said try logging into an administrator account and install the software from there.

Sorry for the slow reply! I am a wrestling coach and have been at a big tournament the last few days. I am using Windows XP. When I try to log off and log in as administrator it has my name and computer administrator - the only other choice is guest. In other words I am designate as the administrator. That is why I am having so many problems, I guess. Should I create a guest account and give it administrator priviledge or something like that?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Since its a time expiring free trial it may require a cookie on your machine to install. Try downloading it again directly to your desktop and then run the installation.

    ;)
