1.whenever i start it it goes straight to system restore manager on my harddrive
2.after couple minutes of running my computer on restore or scanning from restore manager my computer freezes up. (ale to use my mouse but programs either closes or just doesnt proceed farthur anymore.)
    3. there was a couple messages saying ewvoot & select proper boot device or inser boot media in selected boot device repeating on black screen when it didn;t skip to the usual windows restore manager.
    4. i looked up on internet and found sumthing about cleaning fan etc did that and still same problem.
    5. my computer slows up on loading if i quikly turn off and on the computer without waiting awhile.

Hi and welcome to the WindowsBSS community.

Try doing a search at the HP website for the exact terms in the error message.
    www.hp.com/support

Find your model at the HP website and check the information about startup problems and how you can recover from them.

You can let us know what the error says, but try searching for yourself first.

If you are getting multiple or numerous errors in Vista and now startup problems, you need to consider that the system is quite sick.

Make sure it is not a hardware problem, in case you fix this error, then go back to having the same problems you did before. You say you cleaned the "fan" did you look all around inside that there is no dust buildup blocking vents, cooling fins, etc?

You will need to describe the problems/errors very accurately, otherwise we couldn't guess at a possible cause. Supply as much information as you can.

    Matt
