I have Windows XP Home Edition and I am aware of the conflict between MS and Sun. I go to Sun's web site and everything will download but when it comes to installing, it stalls and won't go any further. I've looked in my Internet Options and have no mention of Java anything! HELP!! I am really having Pogo withdrawals. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Still Having Issues RE: Sun Java

Thank you Pete for the link but I don't have MS Java on my machine that I can find. My HP came with MS 98 SE but I upgraded to XP (grrrrrr). Recently I had a total and complete crash of my system and had to put XP exclusively on my machine because my HP recovery discs were damaged. I have yet to download the XP SP1 patch. I saw in some earlier posts where someone was sent to a site to download the MS Java program. Should I do that? Thanks again for your help.

    Hi linkays!

Microsoft has reached an agreement with Sun Microsystems which allows Microsoft to continue its support for the Microsoft Virtual Machine for another year, until 09/30/04.

Windows XP SP1 includes MVM whereas Windows XP SP1a does not.

You can download MVM from this webpage and since You don´t have it installed, You need the exe-file at the bottom of the page.

Should You go for MVM or Sun Microsystems Java? Well, some people will say SMJ because it´s the "original" and others MVM because it´s convenient. I have MVM and will stay with it as long as Microsoft continues its support and as long as it covers my needs.
    The decision is Yours!

    HTH,
    Christer

I once tried the Sun Java with Pogo, and noticed the M$ Java works better and faster with it.
