    Hi,
Just had a problem developed which makes it impossible to disconnect from my modem connection, clicking disconnect has no effect and the onlyway to disconnect is to close PC down and reboot. Sometimes I cannot make any web connections with my browser and a box opens to connect to server but a message of line busy comes up and I still can't close the connection. There is one unusual file opware.exe in task mgr, could this be the problem or is it likely to be something else?

    Hello bg9208,

I can't find anything about opware.exe. If you end it in TM, what happens?

Have you tried to shut down any software that updates, such as AV's - may be keeping the connection open, before trying to disconnect?

or is it likely to be something else?
The chances are that its the modem that's bad.

For your FYI: another possibilty http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=44645&highlight=modem

I could be wrong but if memory serves me correctly opware.exe is a file that belongs to some type of OCR software. Possibly Omnipage Pro????? Do you have that program or some other type of OCR software?

You can maybe find out by doing a search for it, and then when you find it, right click on it and choose properties. Click on the version tab. Where it says other version information, under item name, click on company to highlight it and then look in the box to the right.
