    Hello,

I have a strange issue with disabling automatic restart after System Failure and have so far been unable to find the remedy.

When I remove the tick in the System Properties - Startup and Recovery -System Failure - Automatically restart and click OK. The tick reappears.

When I do this I am logged in as Administrator and UAC is turned off.

Can anyone suggest how I can solve this issue and ensure that the system does not automatically restart after a BSOD please?

    Thanks.

I've seen way too many weird things happen when UAC is turned off, so I won't try to offer any suggestion.

Yea, that's to be expected. I've seen systems getting pretty mixed up when used with UAC turned off.

Only suggestion I have is to try setting it from the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\CrashControl set AutoReboot to 0.

Thanks so much Arie - problem now fixed. :))

I run the PC with UAC turned off because despite having a system with an experience value of 4.7 and 3G Ram it runs slow when UAC is on while using some applications. UAC also messes up my temperature gauge and generally takes up so much time.

Will be glad when Windows 7 is here (I hope so anyway).
