Trucker Vet Info. I am not even sure if this is a file my daughter saved this to my desktop. But I cannot get rid of it. When I try to open I get:
The file'C:\Documents and Settings\Cathy\Desktop\Trucker Vet Info.`,as specified in the execution parameters, cannot be opened.

    Thank you for your help
    Cathy

Hi Cathy, If you open Accessories > Windows Explorer > Desktop - does the File show there?
Can you Delete from the Menu with Right click?
Have you tried Safe Mode to see if you can Delete from there?
Let's know if you have any luck. Neil.

Yes the File shows up in Windows and I was able to delete from the menu with right click.

But it is still on my desktop and will not delete from there.

    Thank you
    Cathy

Shut down your comp - Start again and tap F8 after you get a beep - which should bring you into a request for Safe Mode. Use the Up/Down keys to select Safe Mode and press Enter.
You may get a request for Administrator or you Name. Choose Administrator and you will get a warning that Windows is in Safe Mode and your Desktop will open in larger resolution than normal.
Your File icon should be there - now try and Delete by Right click or as per my previous Post - through Windows Explorer.
To get out of Safe Mode - just Start > Shut Down Computer > Restart and you're done.
Let's know if this helps. Neil.

This may seem to be a silly question. But will it make a difference that I have already deleted the file in Windows Explorer. It is still just on desktop (won't delete from there)

Thank you so much when you reply I will try safe mode.

What happens if you try to rename it?

(Right-click "Trucker Vet Info ", select "Rename ", then type in a different name, such as "DeleteMe" [without the quotes]).

At a command prompt (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt) try to delete the file by typing using:

    del "\\?\C:\Documents and Settings\Cathy\Desktop\Trucker Vet Info. "

Would you know what I am doing wrong.
