I have been unable to complete a connect to www.drudgereport.com for about 2 weeks. This only page I am having trouble with. I have read all other suggestions unable to come to any conclusion. I connect but screen turns white modem stops receiveing, I can view source information. Other people I talk to are not having trouble with this site. I am running Windows XP and IE6. I had this same problem with Weather.com about 4 weeks ago but they either fixed problem or it went away.

    Hi jimbob,
You might want to take a look in your hosts file?
Do a file search on your computer for a file called "hosts" (not hosts.sam that's just a sample file)... if you find one open it with notepad and delete any reference to drudgereport.com (just the line of text).

To open with notepad hilite the file, right click while pressing the shift key and select "open with "... then choose notepad from the window that opens. Do not check the "always open with" option.

    Another thought.

Try pinging the site in DOS. If that works it may indicate a browser or registry problem. If it doesn't, it may well be an Internet routing problem that you have little control over. I've had that happen before when I couldn't raise a site on cable modem while my other machine that was on dial up could raise it. It lasted for three weeks and finally cured itself. Go figure.

Their IP is 216.55.14.166 so from START > RUN > type:

    ping 216.55.14.166

    press enter.
