Did you install the mobo chipset/video card and LAN drivers after you installed XP?

Hi cripancake, Following Steve's reply, did you install Windows Updates and are you running SP3?
IE 7 should be in XP package and SP3 will have chance to opt in IE 8. I don't recollect the need for Internet drivers. Neil.

Go into your device manager and look for any item with a yellow exclamation mark, this indicates that a driver is needed. You may just find that your network adapter is indicated.
