 Hello, I am new to this bulletin board, so lets see how it works. I am currently at a coffee shops' computer because mine will not access the internet. It will however logon to AOL but from there I cannot browse the web. Ive tried everything to fix this. If anybody has a suggestion please reply with it.
also, does anyone know where in the registry resides the authenticity codes for my originally installed windows 98 program, or where i can obtain a list of authenticity keys for windows 98 upgrade or windows xp? I appreciate any help. MCGRAM5@aol.com

    Just what have you tried?

    Is it dialup or broadband?

If you are sure that you are connected to AOL minimize and run internet explorer while still on AOL.

    What now?

I have no idea what you are doing!

Why did you delete the AOL adapter if it workd!

What do you mean unclicked internet 1.1???

How do you know you are actually connected to AOL? Are you sure?

aol told me to delete the aol adapter, i could reinstall it, i am sure i can get on aol. with regards to the unclick, i unclicked i believe "http 1.1" at the request of an aol operator, i could be wrong about that, but regardless, it didnt work.

What exactly is happening when you try to "browse the web "? Is IE returning an error message? What type of connection do you have?

The Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder might help you to locate the Product Key.

When you get tired of aol, and the $24 a month, take a look here.

The best thing you can do is to uninstall AOL. Reboot. I would then delete the folder AOL was installed in. Then run a Regcleaner. Install AOL.
When AOL is uninstalled, it never really is uninstalled. So many things are left over. I know this for I used it for 3 days once. Took me 3 days to root everything out of the registry and hard drive.
