A couple months ago I started getting blue screens which would appear infrequently. I posted a thread on this bbs concerning my problem and it was resolved (no virus/malware found). However, after a few weeks, the blue screens returned -this time with more frequency. Additionally, my system devices seemed to fail randomly: one time I would loose my sound, another my video, etc. At this point, whenever I reboot, I get as far as the Windows logo, then a black screen appears, and finally, the systems tries to reboot again. I tried the bootcfg command in the recovery console, but it did not work. The system does not boot up from safe mode, either. I would appreciate greatly any help you could offer. Much thanks.

I do not have a CD, a DVD or a floppy disk in my CD drive, so that possible cause has been excluded. Unfortunately, I also do not have my Windows XP cd, so I will have to get one, which may take a while. As soon as I get one, I will post an update.

This matter is now resolved. Turns out that the problem was that I fried my graphics card. I have since upgraded to a new, better graphics card and to Windows 7, which has cleared up the problem. Much thanks for your patience and assistance.
