I am experiencing a problem assigning permissions to resources on any 2003 server. I have created global and local groups, then assigned users to the global group and made the global group a member of the local group; however when I am trying to assigned the local group to the resource to set the permission ONLY global groups are listed as being available (local groups are not displayed) however performing the same exercise on an NT4 server within the same domain displays both local and global groups...!

I thought that this may have been an issue with an upgraded NT4 PDC to a 2003 DC so I moved the operations masters to another 2003 DC with a clean install of 2003 server but no joy???

Any suggestions are most welcome, as I have searched the internet but cannot find anything that relates to this.

When you try to add a new user or group in folder security, the window that pops up has a 'location' that will be pointing to the domain by default. Have you tried changing that so the PC name is in location?
