unable to access web sites after installing XP2

    I recently updated to XP service pack 2. When tring to access a web link noted in an email (or several web links in the email)...I am always shown a page that says "unable to locate the page ".......

    I'm sure this has something to do with the new service pack.... having to do with IE preferences. Can anyone give me any hints at what areas to look at to reduce the site blocking I'm experiencing.....
