UG 98 on Second machine 1st MB Fried

I need to UG 98SE to XP Home. I have a puchased in January UG Disk that I used on a machine that took a power surge yesterday and fried the MB. How can I UG another 98SE machine using the original disk that was MS verified etc. Must I call MS or what. I don't want to take a chance on losing programs etc. nor do I want to purchase a second copy? I am not sure if the 1st HD was fried with the MB.

That shouldn't be a major problem. Just do it and you'll get sufficient guidance when you attempt to Activate the copy this second time. Chances are you'll have to call MS at their toll free number and explain the circumstances to them. I understand from others that it's no big deal for them to issue you another activation code when you tell them what for.
