Just running along fine and (Bang) all of a sudden at times when typing it doesn't want to type anything and then at other times it'll type 3 T's (for instance) when i only typed one.
I thought it might be the keyboard, so i bought a new one and i get the same thing. I also chg the mouse and chg the pointer in the c/pnl. and same thing.

Any ideas about whats going on....or am i alone?

    Thanks

You may have a process occupying the CPU like the the mic listening for speech input (advanced text services).

As UNIXFAN mentioned, it's probably some background program running that hogs the processor resource and makes the typing take the back burner.

The easy fix would be to close down all background programs and TSR's but if you can determine specifically which one is the biggest hog, probably just closing it down would be enough.

I don't have XP but try pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del to give you the old familar Close Program screen.
