    Hi all,

    Exchange 2010. Outlook 2010.

Domain PC logged in as a generic user, shared by two employees. Each has their own email address.

I need to setup both of their email profiles such that when they attempt to open Outlook, not only will it ask which profile to load, but require their password as well.

I thought I did this right, but neither are asked for a password and when Outlook opens, both Mailboxes display. Both can receive email, but neither can send. They get an error about not having permission to send on behalf of that user.

Can someone tell me how to accomplish what I need, please? Thanks!

Thanks, Arie. But after doing it myself and not getting it to work as desired, I hit Google and found that among many other things. Did all that. It's still acting as described in the OP. :-(

Creating separate Windows profile would also help.

Yeah, as much as I would prefer two separate Windows profiles, that's not really an option due to some specialized monitoring software they run 24/7.

Arie, I'll check out your second link.

    Thanks, guys.

Hmmmmm... Nothing there I can find. There are two problems remaining. When I open Outlook 2010, it DOES ask me which profile I want.

But after making the selection, it does not prompt me for a password and I get right in. Then, when trying to send an email (receive works fine), I get:
I am at a loss why this is, but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the email user is not the same as the "logged-in-to-the-domain" user.

Why is it not prompting me for a password sa it can ACTUALLY authenticate for email? Before I joined this PC to the domain, this all worked fine! Argh!

    NOPE! Found it. Something simple...

In the account settings, under the "Data Files" tab, you then see "Settings ". In there is an option to always ask for authentication. Checked that. Had to do that for both profiles; all is well now.

    Thanks, guys.
