I have Kerio Personal Firewall 4.1. It was freezing up when I tried to access the settings through the tray icon. I had to kill it with task manager about five times. Each time, I noticed that there were two instancs of it running, one was under ADMINISTRATOR, the other was SYSTEM. The ADMINISTRATOR one was using anywhere from 80% to 90% of CPU resources while the other was at 0%. When I killed the ADMINISTRATOR one, it would disappear for a second and then reinitialize itself. When killing, two Kerio icons would briefly appear in the system tray for a second.

Why are there always two instances of Kerio?

Ah yes, I read some very informative posts in their boards. Turns out you need to disable icons and all logging of connected programs (in the overview tab). I did this, so hopefully that will help.
