Resolved two computers with same IP address ? [Win 7]

    My new PC is now up and running, and all went well for a week, but today I get bthe error message on my laptop that it has detected that there are two computers running on this home network with the same IP address ... which may be why I can't get on to the internet with either , until I switched one off.
    What do I do, apart from scream for help ?

    Try switching everything off. Then switch on router & wait for about 5 minutes. Then switch on your computers. Hope everything would work out fine.
