On kids (HP) XP Home Desktop view, my Administrator account, I have a Application Data folder. It is not status as a shortcut. I am confused exactly why/how/when it got there. I have the following folders .... (see jpg view for both)

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\Application Data

As you can see, they have little in common, but do share a few common folders. (their contents are not similar).
Should their be a "Desktop" parent folder for Application Data under All Users? My XP does not. If this is not correct, what do I do with this folder and it's contents.

    Thanks

If everything is running OK, I'd leave it alone.

I have two, but different Application Data folders. The TechSmith folder was created by an application I use....

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application DataTechSmith

    Thanks Steve - Most appreciated

I did a properties check on ~Desktop\Application Data folder. It stated Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 1:07:21pm creation date. I had (1) Acronis Image of C drive for this computer PRIOR to this date. Image was created on 2/24/07. The next available image was 8/23/07. All of the images inbetween I deleted last week. I deleted them because they contained a Sunbelt Kerio Firewall issue. A Kerio driver was causing frequent BSOD, computer was erratic and performance was poor. After going through numerous Memory.DMP files I finally spotted the Kerio driver error. I uninstalled Kerio / registry cleaned, and loaded Comodo firewall and the computer runs great. With computer running good, I no longer wanted image files which contained this error, so they were deleted.
    SO continuing ...
Acronis image tool has an option which allows user to "Mount" an image (creates/mounts to a virtual drive).
Acronis opens the image in Explorer (See jpg). On the left side a tree view of old image - on the right side is a tree view of current. Both have path of C:\Documents and Settings\All Users. I highlighted All Users and both views agree on folder content. My concern was NTUSER.DAT, which appears to be intact and good for both views. Kids HP computer current tree (right side view) gives the appearance that I created a copy of Application Data and sent it to Desktop.
Also my OLD image tree view (Kids HP computer) agrees with same tree view path on my computer.
